Superheavy dark matter from string theory

چکیده

A bstract Explicit string models which can realize inflation and low-energy supersymmetry are notoriously difficult to achieve. Given that sequestering requires very specific configurations, supersymmetric particles in general expected be heavy implying the neutralino dark matter should overproduced a standard thermal history. However, this paper we point out is generically not case since early domination driven by moduli dilute abundance down observed value. We argue generic features of compactifications, namely high breaking scale late time epochs modulus domination, might imply superheavy with mass around 10 –10 11 GeV. Interestingly, right range explain recent detection ultra-high-energy neutrinos IceCube ANITA via decay.

Superheavy dark matter

We show that, contrary to the standard lore, dark matter may be superheavy (many orders of magnitude larger than the weak scale). We show that massive particles may be produced naturally during the transition from the inflationary phase to either a matter-dominated or radiation-dominated phase as a result of the expansion of the background spacetime acting on vacuum quantum fluctuations of the ...

Superheavy Dark Matter A

In the standard dark matter scenarios, WIMPs are usually considered to have once been in local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE), and their present abundance is determined by their self-annihilation cross section. In that case, unitarity and the lower bound on the age of the universe constrains the mass of the relic to be less than 500 TeV. 1 On the other hand, if the DM particles never attained ...

Superheavy Dark Matter from Thermal Inflation

It is quite plausible that the mass of the dark matter particle increases significantly after its freeze-out, due to a scalar field rolling to large values. We describe a realization of this scenario in the context of thermal inflation which naturally gives a cold dark matter particle with the correct cosmological abundance and a mass around 10 GeV, evading the conventional upper bound of 10 Ge...

Natural Dark Matter from Type I String Theory

We study neutralino dark matter within a semi-realistic type I string model, where supersymmetry breaking arises from F-terms of moduli fields parameterised in terms of Goldstino angles, which automatically gives rise to nonuniversal soft third sfamily and gaugino masses. We study the fine-tuning sensitivities for dark matter and electroweak symmetry breaking across the parameter space of the t...

Superheavy Dark Matter with Discrete Gauge Symmetries

We show that there are discrete gauge symmetries protect naturally heavy X particles from decaying into the ordinary light particles in the supersymmetric standard model. This makes the proposal very attractive that the superheavy X particles constitute a part of the dark matter in the present universe. It is more interesting that there are a class of discrete gauge symmetries which naturally a...
